Behringer Announces Range of Upcoming Products on Social Media

Post date:

June has been a busy month for Behringer, with the company revealing several upcoming synthesizers on social media. Behringer is also not averse to asking its fans for feedback on social media and incorporating this into its products. Here’s a quick look at some highlights that fans can expect.

Behringer PRO VS Mini Firmware Update

Behringer PRO VS Mini Firmware Update

The $99 PRO VS Mini is Behringer’s best-selling synth, and thanks to user feedback, it received another firmware update. The free 1.1.5 update improves the operation of MIX envelope loop modes, which many Behringer customers on social media requested.

Behringer LMDrum

Behringer generated some excitement on its social media pages with a photo of the LM Drum captioned, “Almost there. Very proud of the team and the result.” Behringer announced the LM Drum a few years back and released a statement in 2022 that the final prototype was complete and ready to go into the testing stage. In a later post, Behringer stated that they acquired a legendary Linn drum machine, complete with original EPROMS from Tears for Fears, a few years back. These EPROMS contain the authentic sounds of the iconic band, and Behringer meticulously extracted all of them to include in their LUM Drum. The response from fans was quite positive, but many doubted that the instrument would be released before next year.

Behringer WING Console Effects Guide

Behringer released the WING, a 48-channel, 28-bus full stereo digital mixing console, a few years back, and it gained popularity with many users. Now, Behringer has announced the release of a free comprehensive effects guide for the WING. The guide covers all 87 effects and emulations available on the console. According to Behringer, the guide is perfect for any WING owners looking to perfect their mix or who want to explore new sound possibilities. The guide is in PDF format and can be viewed online (https://ow.ly/yFuc50SfkN3).

Behringer PRO-16

Behringer PRO-16

Behringer announced an update on their recreation of the iconic Prophet 5, called the PRO-16. According to Behringer, the engineering work involved in recreating this synthesizer was no small feat, and their team of engineers had to navigate the intricacies of integrating thousands of components. Behringer also states that the development of an 8-layer printed circuit board is one of the most challenging aspects of the project. However, they believe the PRO-16 will be a powerhouse, boasting 16 voices, multi-mode filters, 8-mode atrophy settings, and a poly aftertouch key bed.

Elka Synthex

Elka Synthex

Although they have yet to announce a name for it, Behringer did reveal that it is working on reviving the Elka Synthex, a synthesizer from the early 1980s. The synth was used by everyone from Jean-Michel Jarre to Duran Duran and was produced by the Italian company Elka. Behringer is working with a dedicated team of R&D engineers in Italy using advanced field programmable gate arrays to replicate the original circuitry and signal paths. According to Behringer, this will allow the instrument to capture the essence of the Synthex’s distinctive sound. Unfortunately, this “labor of love” project is expected to take a few years, but Behringer promises it will be worth the wait.

Behringer Mutator

Behringer Mutator

Behringer asked fans on their social media channels what format they would prefer for the Mutator product they are working on. According to Behringer, they are collaborating closely with the original designer of Mutator to ensure its authenticity and quality. However, they wanted to know if buyers would be interested in a lower-cost and more flexible Eurorack version or a classic 19-inch rack version. After reviewing the feedback they got, Behringer stated that it was clear that most people would prefer a desktop version of the Mutator that can also be rack-mounted.
