New Releases By Manecolab, Error Instruments and Rainbow Circuit
Pikoloops is a new Eurorack module by Manecolabs, which it describes as their take on Pkocore, developed by InfiniteDigits. This 12HP eurorack module is a lo-fi music mangler based on the Raspberry Pi Pico and is capable of holding eight minutes of 8-bit 33 kHz monophonic samples. It is also loaded with real-time effects, including a resonant filter, time-stretching, volume, and wavefolding. It is sync-compatible with eurorack devices and also able to load custom firmware and new samples through USB-C. Error Instruments has released The Passive Operator, describing it as a one-of-a-kind drum synthesizer that operates without the need for an external power supply. Passive Operator relies on triggers, gates, and Control Voltage signals, which makes it compatible with Eurorack modular systems or standalone setups.
According to Error Instruments, the Passive Operator offers experimental sounds and offers users a truly unique sonic experience. It is housed in a solid aluminum box that is durable enough for both studio and live performances. Passive Operator features different compartments that are all designed for a specific sound-shaping purpose. These include the two input compartments that accept CV, gate, trigger, and audio signals, the mix compartment that serves as the central hub for signal routing, and the patch matrix, which features multiple outputs for triggers and Control Voltage. The instrument also offers users a tactile and expressive dimension thanks to the addition of a touchpad that can be used as an alternative control method. Check out the video below to hear the Passive Operator in action, and visit the official website for a full overview.

Rainbow Circuit has released Crush, a two-operator drum FM Synthesizer that is supported by a plate resonator. Users can adjust the ratio and frequency modulation amount and set the stiffness of the plate resonator. The bright percussive sounds generated by Crush is great for experimental sounds, and the synth is available as a free download on Gumroad. Users who enjoy Crush can also make a payment to support the developer.
