There are still a few hardware and software synthesizers on the horizon, but for those too impatient to wait, here are some of the latest offerings that are available right now.

Syncussion SY-1

Behringer has released the Syncussion SY-1, a classic dual analog percussion synthesizer featuring an authentic reproduction of the original Pearl Syncussion SY-1 circuitry. It features six oscillator modes, tune, decay, and filter cutoff controls, an LFO with square and triable waves, sample and hold controls, and a comprehensive MIDI implementation. Syncussion SY-1 also offers thirty controls for direct and real-time access to all the important parameters, and the main module can be transferred to a standard Eurorack case. With the original Pearl Syncussion SY-1 showing up in music by the likes of Prince, Kraftwerk, and Herbie Hancock, there have been plenty of synth enthusiasts who were waiting for an affordable way to get their hands on the same dynamic and iconic sounds. Vespera

Mntra Instruments has released Vespera, describing it as the first installment of their Acoustic Synthesis line. Vespera is a hybrid electro-acoustic synthesizer that, according to Mntra Instruments, was crafted to explore physical re-synthesis. This softsynth utilizes heavily driven tube modular synth oscillations that are meticulously re-amped and resonated through various physical objects. These sources are then transmuted into a deeply expressive polyphonic instrument. According to Mntra Instruments, it is SSM™ powered with 128+ velocity capability, which means it can offer deep reactive sonic variations that surpass both traditional hardware and virtual synths.

Vespera is available in Standard and Pro editions, with the standard edition aimed at creators with more limited system specs. In contrast to the one round-robin per note and 4-octave range of the standard edition, the pro edition offers a 60-octave keyboard range and up to 13 round robins. Skyridge

ZAK Sound has released Skybridge, a new vocal-based instrument for generating ethereal and inspiring pads. According to ZAK Sound, Skybridge comes with everything you need to produce unique atmospheres ranging from soft, billowing clouds to otherworldly textures. Skybridge can transform voice samples into intricate, cascading patterns with its built-in arpeggiator. In addition, Skybridge offers built-in saturation, chorus, delay, phase, and reverb effects. Users can also craft grainy textures and ambient pads using the Atmosphere feature. Skybridge has two samplers, Engine X and Engine Y, each with two graphic filters and eight distinct types of filters for sound shaping. It has 78 textures based on voice recordings, lossless audio sample compression, and 100 presets.
